Chief Executive Officer

Nelson Amo

Nelson Amo has experience in business development, grant management, business model innovation, growth planning and project management in the profit and non-profit sectors.

Nelson Amo has experience in business development, grant management, business model innovation, growth planning and project management in the profit and non-profit sectors. He is an alumnus of the Oxford Social Finance Program from the Oxford University Said Business School. He has an MSc. in Development Studies from LSE, with a special interest in Business Model Innovation at the bottom of the Pyramid. He also has a certificate in “Unlocking Finance for Emerging Markets and Developing Economies”, a World Bank course, as well as a certificate in “Startup Accelerators in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem” from the Golda Meir MASHAV Carmel International Training Centre, Israel.

He is the Grant Manager for mLab Ghana, a US$1.2million project under Ghana’s Ministry of Communication with funding from the World Bank, with the objective of promoting the development of digital start-ups, supporting them to develop their prototype and launching on the market. He is also the Grant Manager for the World Bank sponsored Ghana Climate Venture Facility with a budget of $3.2m. He previously designed and/or led on enterprise support programs like the Innohub Accelerator Program, Solidaridad West Africa’s Accelerator for Responsible Gold, fLab Incubator for females in tech, the British Council’s ReadyToWork incubator program for 25 small and growing businesses, and many others. He was part of a consortium that executed the World Bank sponsored Cross Border Climate Technology Diffusion program in Ghana.

Nelson has also led consulting projects across several industries including m-health, renewable energy, agribusiness, green housing, etc. Nelson is a Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance Fellow and a Coach of the Africa Entrepreneurship Awards, hosted by the BMCE Bank of Africa in Morocco annually. He holds a Train-the-Trainer certificate from Coventry University’s Africa Institute for Transformational Entrepreneurship. He has great love for coaching and supporting entrepreneurs.

Thomas Wiredu

Thomas Wiredu is an investment professional with experience in new business development, portfolio management, and growth consulting. He has vast experience in financial modelling and new business development.

Thomas Wiredu is an investment professional with experience in new business development, portfolio management, and growth consulting. He has vast experience in financial modelling and new business development. Over the years, he has overseen business incubator/accelerator programs, and worked with numerous companies in FMCG, renewable energy, and investment banking - notably Vakmet Capital and Nestle Central & West Africa Regional office. He has worked on consulting and market research projects for Oil Palm Processing, Healthcare provider, Renewable and Alternative energy solutions, and safe water production, among others. He was Investment Manager on the Innohub Accelerator Program, and is currently the manager for Proof-of-Concept grants for Ghana Tech Lab. He holds a BSc. in Economics from University of Ghana and holds the professional Broker/Dealer certificate from the Ghana Stock Exchange.

Emmanuel Galley Baiden

Emmanuel Galley Baiden is a Finance Consultant with more than a decade demonstrable expertise in financial leadership, business development & transformation, BI analysis, strategy development and execution, capacity building and project management.

Emmanuel Galley Baiden is a Finance Consultant with more than a decade demonstrable expertise in financial leadership, business development & transformation, BI analysis, strategy development and execution, capacity building and project management: working closely with start-ups and well-developed organisations spanning across NGOs, Financial Services, FinTech, ProTech, Investment Banking, Agribusiness, Real Estate, Oil & Gas and Management Consultancy. Prior to joining Innohub, Emmanuel worked with; WestOne Microfinance Ltd, Mcottley Holdings, Hydrocol Energy, Enterprise Life Insurance and Alsug Consult.

He brings to the team a wealth of experience in delivering financial advisory to Innohub as well as support for grant financial management and reporting requirements for donor sponsored projects from partners like the World Bank, British Council, GIZ, French Development Agency, etc. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) and holds a Master of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). He is also an Enterprise Risk Management Specialist from the ERM Africa. Emmanuel is passionate about bringing numbers to life and turning data into actionable insights.

Letitia Varney

Letitia Varney is a finance professional with experience in corporate finance, company valuation, analysis of financial statements, business planning and financial modelling.

Letitia Varney is a finance professional with experience in corporate finance, company valuation, analysis of financial statements, business planning and financial modelling. She worked for Wildon and Kwelny Advisors as a financial analyst for three years where she worked with Ghanaian SMEs across various sectors. Prior to that she was an accountant at Merck Sharp & Dohme Idea Inc. Rep office in Lebanon. In addition to her daily responsibilities, she played a supporting role consolidating and reconciling accounts during its merger with Shering Plough. She holds a BBA in Banking and Finance and MBA in Finance and Economics from Notre Dame University, Lebanon. Letitia believes that consistent efforts no matter how small, pave the way to success.

Melissa Mercedes Morgan Mensah

Melissa Mercedes Morgan Mensah is a resourceful researcher with 6+ years of experience in overseeing research office activities, analysis and reporting, new products developments, business models, tactics and strategies formulation, and more.

Melissa Mercedes Morgan Mensah is a resourceful researcher with 6+ years of experience in overseeing research office activities, and talented in guiding all functions relating to research studies, analysis and reporting, new products developments, business models, tactics and strategies formulation, as well as preparing business plans and proposals for clients across diverse fields.

Melissa has worked with the University of Rhode Island-Coastal Resources Center, serving as the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer under the $25 million USAID Feed-the- Future Sustainable Fisheries Management Project. During the period, she reviewed existing data source quality and collection methods and coordinated with project’s implementing partners to address identified gaps. She also supported in the management of data collection and data quality control processes for the project.

Prior to joining Innohub, Melissa served as a Gender, Climate and Entrepreneurship Advisor on the Accelerating Women Climate Entrepreneurs’ Project (West, East & Southern Africa) implemented by the World University Services of Canada.
Melissa holds a Master’s degree with Distinction in Engineering and Management from Coventry University, and an undergraduate degree in Geomatic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She also holds certificates in Financial Markets, Human Subjects Research, Gender-responsive Monitoring & Evaluation and Monitoring & Evaluation for Development Professionals. She is a certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt professional.

Doris Awortwi – Tandoh

Doris Awortwi – Tandoh brings on board 5 years of experience in business administration and program management.

She previously worked with Vokacom Limited and Millennium Excellence Foundation as Personal Assistant to the CEO and doubled as a Programs manager at Millennium. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Management with Computing from Regent University of Science and Technology affiliated to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and a certificate of achievement in Business and Impact planning for Social enterprises from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MITx). Doris is passionate about supporting entrepreneurs to create impact.

King David Amo

King David Amo is a Supply Chain and Procurement Management Professional with expertise in Logistics, Procurement, and HR consulting.

King David Amo is a Supply Chain and Procurement Management Professional with expertise in Logistics, Procurement, and HR consulting. He worked previously with SGS Ghana and H.A. Solutions, and co-founded Internships Ghana. He has been trained on World Bank Procurement Standards and Results-Based Procurement Planning and is the procurement lead for a US$3.2million component of a $10million SME fund in Ghana, sponsored by Innohub through a World Bank grant.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and an HND in Purchasing and Supply from Kumasi Polytechnic. He is most excited about startups and their journey to growth especially in establishing the right customer relationships and efficient distribution channels.

Nanette Baimbill-Johnson

Nanette has over five years of successful experience in business development, coaching and research management.

Nanette has over five years of successful experience in business development, coaching and research management, mainly in the private sector where she specialized in business problem diagnosis and solution, capacity building and training as well as research for company and policy formation.
She is a $50,000 seed fund winner from the Kosmos Innovation Center Challenge program where she co-founded CompleteFarmer Ltd, a YFP fellow from MBC-Africa and a former Research analyst for AgInnovate where she handled company research and policy formation for business development.
Currently, she holds an MPhil in Agricultural Administration and a BSc in Agricultural Science from the University of Ghana.

Rachael Effah-Frempah

Rachael Effah-Frempah is a finance professional with experience in managing payables, receivables, as well as financial reporting and reconciliations.

Prior to joining Innohub, she worked with the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GHIPSS) as an Assistant Finance Officer where she was responsible for customer accounts and statutory payments. She holds a BSc. in Banking and Finance from the University of Ghana Business School. She is currently a student accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Racheal is passionate about value creation and impact.
