The Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Ghana (GrEEn) project is an initiative of the SNV Netherlands Development Organization, funded by the European Union, with Innohub as the Accelerator Partner. The project is aimed at supporting local green businesses in the Western and Ashanti Regions of Ghana, especially in the Agriculture and Agribusiness, WASH, and Renewal Energy sectors to create jobs for youth, women and returning migrants.

Since the inception of the acceleration program in 2021, Innohub has supported 9 Green businesses in the target regions and sectors – with Business development and Investor readiness support – in 2 cohorts lasting 6 months each. For cohort 2, Innohub supported 6 green businesses with 4 businesses in the Agric and agribusiness sector and 2 in the WASH sector. Out of the 6 businesses supported, 5 were women led businesses.

After 6 months of coaching, mentoring and business development support, we crowned the event with a graduation and demo day event on Thursday 24th February 2022. The businesses took turns to pitch to a panel of judges consisting of Mr. Prince Akpessey, an investment banker and currently the director for the deal team at Zebu Investment Partners, Ms. Anna Amegatcher, an independent consultant and Mr. Uriah Karikari, an academic research and development scientist and currently the C.E.O and founder of Farm Assist and Seguah.

The event provided them with a platform to receive constructive feedback from relevant stakeholders in the climate and investment space.

Let’s go GrEEn!
